Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of achieving a state of resilience. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data was collected through interviews with three respondents who were not elected in the 2019 legislative elections and another significant informant and took documentation in the form of respondents' status on social media. The results show that candidates who fail and rise to achieve resilience will go through three phases. The first phase experienced is adversity, after which the respondent will experience a phase of introspection and the last phase to achieve resilience is to rise. The main factors that influence respondents to switch to each phase, especially in the introspection phase to the rise of religiosity and social support factors. Another factor that influences to rise is the initial intention of nomination and the activity or occupation of the respondent.
