Abstract


The Kajang tribal settlement is one of the settlements in Bulukumba district, South Sulawesi province, which is still very traditional and rejects all things that smell like modernity. This study aims to determine the description of residential satisfaction of the Kajang people. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Respondents in this study were 5 people. Respondents were obtained through random sampling technique with data collection using semi-structured interviews directly to respondents. The results of this study indicate that respondents are satisfied with their settlements. Attachment to the place of residence and gratitude are the main factors for residential satisfaction respondents'. Another factor of the residential satisfaction is respondent's having a good relationship with neighbors, a quiet and comfortable residential environment and a uniform house with the value of equality and equality. The absence of public facilities in the settlements does not significantly affect the residential satisfaction respondents'.
