Abstract


In early adulthood, individuals experience pressure on themselves caused by work, school, and the environment. Individuals make efforts to divert the pressure they are experiencing temporarily by means of coping. This is related to the eating behavior experienced by the individual. This study aims to determine the relationship between coping stress and eating behavior in early adulthood. Respondents in this study amounted to 30 respondents, with criteria aged 18 to 25 years, working or studying and experiencing stress. The measuring instrument used in this research is the scale of coping stress and eating behavior, which is analyzed using path analysis test. The results showed that there was no relationship between coping stress and eating behavior in early adulthood. Each shows the PFC value with external eating of 0.312 and the EFC value with external eating of 0.778. The PFC value with emotional eating is 0.715 and the EFC value with emotional eating is 0.614. The PFC value with restrained eating is 0.101 and the EFC value with restrained eating is 0.240.
