Abstract


Internet addiction is one of phenomenon that occur among college students. This study aims to determine the relationship between shyness with internet addiction in students. The subject of this study are the students who using internet excessively. Totaling 265 samples of students consist of 69 (26,85%) male students and 196 (73,15%) female students. This study used quantitative research methods. The data obtained is analyzed using spearman correlation techniques. The result showed correlation coefficient value between shyness and internet addiction was equal to 0,245 (r=0,245) with significance value of 0,000 (p=0,000). The value indicates that there was a very significant positive correlation between shyness and internet addiction in students.
