Abstract


Prisoners in Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa experience unfavorable acceptance, seen from their inability to like their own characteristics, feeling useless, unable to accept their shortcomings, and feeling jealous of other people with the same status as them. Self acceptance can be influenced by the religiosity of prisoners. The research aims to find out the relations between religiosity and self acceptance of prisoners at Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa. The respondents of this research were prisoners in Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa as many as 60 people. The instruments of the research used the scale of the self acceptance and religiosity that was analyzed by Pearson Product Moment technic. The analysis of the hypothesis found the value of r = 0,705 and p = 0,000. p value < 0,05. It means that there is a positive correlation and strength. This study suggested that there is a relation between religiosity and self acceptance of prisoners at Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Sungguminasa. The implications of the research are the importance of religiosity to increase self acceptance of prisoners.
