Abstract


Islamic boarding schools have a more comprehensive learning system compared to public schools. The busy activities of Islamic boarding schools make students stressed because there are many instructions for activities that must be carried out. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence of social support on academic stress in students at the As'adiyah Kaloling Islamic Boarding School. The subjects consisted of 72 students. The sampling method uses simple random sampling. The scales used were the social support scale and the academic stress scale, then analyzed using a simple linear regression test. The results of the research show that there is a negative relationship between social support and the academic stress of students at the As'adiyah Kaloling Islamic Boarding School of (r) 0.379 with a significance level of (p) 0.001. Social support has an influence of 15.8% on academic stress and the remaining 84.2% is due to other factors not involved in this research. The results of this research provide an overview of the contribution of social support to academic stress in santri so that it can be a reference for making contributions to santri.
