Abstract

Grit is one of the resources that is reported to affect student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of grit on student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were 139 students at SMAN Y Makassar. This study uses a quantitative method of simple linear regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing in this study showed that grit had a significant positive effect on learning outcomes (b = 1.08, p <0.001), with 16.1% the grit variable contributed in explaining the variance of student learning outcomes (R2 = 0.161). The results of the hypothesis test show that there is an effect of grit on student learning outcomes at SMAN Y Makassar. The beta value (estimated) on the grit variable is positive, which means that the higher the grit a student has, the higher the student's learning outcomes will be. Increasing students' understanding of grit is effective in increasing student learning outcomes at SMAN Y Makassar.
