Abstract


Homesickness is something that first-years overseas students often experience. Apart from the usual things, prolonged feelings of homescikness can actually have a bad effect on a person. The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is an influence of emotional maturity on homesickness in first-year overseas students in Malang City. The method used is a correlational quantitative research method, with data collection techniques using the emotional maturity scale and homesickness scale. The research subjects were 100 first-year overseas students in Malang City who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research hypothesis test uses a simple linear regression test. The results show that there is an effect of emotional maturity on homesickness in first-year overseas students in Malang City of 8.9%. The variable relationship is negative, that is, if homesickness is high, emotional maturity is low, and vice versa.
