Abstract
Organizational commitment is an action or behavior shown by employees when working for the organization including actively contributing to the welfare of the organization. Organizational commitment also has a psychological bond between employees and the organization, so employees choose to maintain their membership (Mowday, Porter & Steers, 1979). Research about Organizational commitment is an interesting topic to study, therefore a standard measuring instrument or scale is needed and in accordance with the language in Indonesia. This study aims to see the value of the validity and reliability of the new version of the scale that has been prepared by the researcher through the scale adaptation method that refers to the Guidelines for the Process of Adaptation (Beaton et al, 2000). This research consists of two stages. The first stage is the process of preparing a new version of the organizational commitment scale. The second stage is the process of testing and data analysis. The trial process was carried out on 75 nurses with the criteria of being married and having children. The test results show that there is one item that falls on the organizational commitment scale because the total value of the item is below 0.40. The test results obtained a reliability value for the organizational commitment scale of 0.900. The results of this study indicate that the items that fall on the organizational commitment scale must be corrected by further researchers so that they can obtain accurate results.
