Abstract


Online learning requires students to have self regulated learning, so that the learning process becomes effective. Factors that influence self regulated learning is social support. This study aims to determine the effect of social support on self regulated learning of SMPN students in online learning in Makassar City. The subjects of this study amounted to 400 SMPN students in the city of Makassar who were following the online learning process. The sampling technique in this study used simple random sampling. The measuring instrument used is the self regulated learning scale and the social support scale. This study uses a simple linear regression analysis technique with the help of SPSS v.25.0. The results showed that the p-value (0.000) < 0.05, meaning that there was a positive influence between social support on self-regulated learning of SMPN students in online learning in Makassar City. The higher the social support, the higher the student's self regulated learning level, on the contrary, the lower the support, the lower the student's self-regulated learning level. Social support contributed 0.139 (13.9%) to the level of students' self regulated learning in online learning. The implication of this research is to provide information to students, teachers, and parents to increase the provision of social support for students who study online.
