Abstract


Low altruistic behavior can be caused by a lack of values and appreciation of the individual’s religion. Volunteers' altruistic behavior can be influenced by religiosity. This study aims to determine the effect of religiosity on the altruistic behavior of Muslim volunteers in Makassar City. This study uses quantitative methods with accidental sampling technique in sampling. The subjects of this study were Muslim volunteers in Makassar City, wich is totally there is 137 people. The instruments used were the scale of religiosity and altruistic behavior. Analysis of the data used was simple linearf regression analysis with the help of SPSS 24 for windows. The results of data analysis showed that the magnitude of the influence is 19.5% (0.195×100%) with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of religiosity on the altruistic behavior of Muslim volunteers in Makassar City. This research is expected to be able to provide advice for volunteers to improve their religiosity and altruistic behavior.
