Abstract


Academic demands make young doctors vulnerable to academic stress, one of the psychological resources that can influence an individual's assessment of stressor is grit. This study aims to determine the effect of grit on academic stress in co-assistant doctor at the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University. The sample in this study was obtained by simple random sampling technique. Subjects in this study amounted to 273 co-assistant doctor. This study uses quantitative methods with simple linear regression statistical methods. The results showed that there was an effect of grit on academic stress in young doctors (co-assistant) at the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The grit variable has an influence of 7.8% on academic stress while 92.2% is influenced by other factors not measured in this study.
