Abstract


Individuals who are not able to manage emotions well will have an impact on the thesis process, such as delaying or not even working on the thesis. This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion on emotional intelligence in students who are working on a thesis. The research method used is quantitative. The sample was obtained by using a accidental sampling technique, with as many as 90 students who were working on their thesis for more than six months. The data analysis method used is an ordinal regression. The results of the hypothesis test are that there is an effect of self-compassion on emotional intelligence in students who are working on a thesis. The effect of self-compassion on emotional intelligence is 41% (p < 0.05). This research is useful for students who are working on their thesis, especially at the Faculty of Psychology, Makassar State University.
