Abstract


This research aims to find out the relationship between decision making and impulsive buying in students. This research uses quantitative methods. The research subject consisted of 271 students. This research data was obtained using a scale, namely the scale of emotional and cognition decision making, as well as the scale of impulsive purchases. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation analysis techniques with the help of SPSS 22.00 for windows. The results showed that there was a relationship between decision making and impulsive purchases in students (p=0,000, r=0,335). The results also show that there is an emotional decision-making relationship with impulsive purchases in students (p=0,000, r=0,337), and there is no relationship between cognition decision making and impulsive purchases in students (p=0,140, r=0,090). This research illustrates that individuals who make impulsive purchases will prioritize emotional decision making. Impulsive purchases can be reduced if cognition is done.
