Pengaruh Ketergantungan Make-Up Terhadap Kepercayaan Diri pada Remaja Putri

Abstract


The lack of confidence in physical appearance, especially the face experienced by young women, encourages them to use make-up to make their appearance, especially their face beautiful and cover their shortcomings. Make-up is also commonly referred to as facial makeup which includes various things ranging from techniques, tools, and very many cosmetic products. Some examples of make-up are foundation, concealer, mascara, powder, blush, lipstick, and eye liner. The use of make-up can indeed be a means to increase one's self-confidence, especially young women. However, many young women cannot escape and are too dependent on the make-up used. This study aims to determine how the influence of dependence on self-confidence in young women. The design used in this research is quantitative research. The subjects of this study were young women aged 17-21 years as many as 167 respondents. The measuring instrument used is a dependency scale based on the theory of DeFleur and Rokeach and a self-confidence scale based on Lauster's theory. Data analysis technique using simple linear regression test SPSS Statistics Ver. 25. The results of this study indicate a sig value of 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that there is a significant negative effect between make-up dependence and self-confidence in young women..
