Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest with mathematics learning outcomes of the 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Lamba Leda, East Manggarai Regency. This study uses a quantitative research approach using correlation research methods. In this study, the population was all 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Lamba Leda in the even semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The sample in this study was 28 students in grade 7th. The sampling technique used in this research was simple random sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires and documentation techniques. Hypothesis testing using the Product Moment correlation test assisted by SPSS 16. Based on the data analysis, it was known that: there was a correlation between learning interest with mathematics learning outcomes. This can be seen based on the results of SPSS calculations that Sig correlations = 0.001 < 0.05; then, there was a significant relationship between the X variable (learning interest) and the Y variable (mathematics learning outcomes). In addition, because the value of Sig correlations was positive, learning interest was positively and significantly related to the mathematics learning outcomes of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Lamba Leda, East Manggarai Regency.
