Comparative Effectiveness of Group Investigation and Snowball Throwing Learning Models

Abstract


This experimental study aims to examine the differences in the effectiveness of the two learning models of Group Investigation and Snowball Throwing, which are applied to class XI of SMA Neg.4 Sinjai. The subjects of this study were students of grade XI Mipa-1 and XI Mipa-3 with the determination of the sample using cluster random sampling. The results showed that: (1) For students learning outcomes using the Group Investigation learning model achieved learning mastery of 93.7% while the Snowball Throwing with learning completeness of 79.3% (2) The activities of students who were taught using the Group Investigation and Snowball Trowing models were in a good category, (3) Student responses to the Group Investigation learning model showed a positive response, while Snowball Throwing showed a positive response. Thus, both models have an effect, and from the average increase in the value of learning outcomes, the Group Investigation model is slightly more effective than the Snowball Throwing model.
