Abstract


Abstract. This experimental study aims to determine the effect of physical condition training through lateral kettlebell swings and incline dumbbell curls and the different effects of the two forms of physical exercise on the forehand drive hit in lawn tennis games. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Sport Science, Makassar State University. This research is an experimental research, and uses a randomized group pretest posttest design. As an independent variable that is a form of lateral training kettlebell swings and incline dumbbell curls, then the dependent variable is the ability to forehand drive in lawn tennis. A sample of 40 people was divided into 2 (two) groups using simple random sampling technique. Research data were collected using a forehand drive ability test for lawn tennis. This test is used to measure the level of forehand drive hit in lawn tennis. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. at the real level α = 0.05. The results showed that: 1) The exercise of the lateral physical condition of kettlebell swings had a significant influence on the ability of the forehand drive in the lawn tennis game (to = -20,458 > ttable0.05 = 2.086), and the posttest average value was higher compared to the average value of pretest or (μA2 30.1000 > μA1 = 20.3000) with a difference of 9.8. 2) Exercise physical condition of incline dumbbell curls has a significant influence on the ability to forehand drive in lawn tennis (to = -12,348 > ttable 0.05 2,086) and the average posttest is higher than the average value pretest or (μA2 27.4000 > μA1 20.2000) with a difference of 7.2.    3) Exercise of the lateral physical condition of kettlebell swings and incline dumbbell curls gives a significant difference in effect on the ability to forehand drive in lawn tennis (to = - 2.835 > ttable 0.05 = 2.025). Lateral physical kettlebell swings are used more effectively in improving the ability to forehand drive in lawn tennis than incline dumbbell curls (μA2 30.1000 > μB2 27.4000).
