Development of Dental and Oral Health Education Multimedia for Children Based on Adobe Animate

Abstract


Abstract. Oral health is a part of body health that cannot be separated from one another. Therefore, oral health will affect the overall health of the body. Health improvement in oral health can be done through counseling and needs to be done as early as possible. Educating children requires a particular approach, such as giving examples using a good model and with simple techniques as possible. Besides, the delivery of dental and oral health education to children must be made as attractive as possible, among others, through interactive media without reducing educational content. This study aims to produce educational videos in animations that contain ways to prevent dental and oral diseases to interactive children. This media development uses the Adobe Animate application. This research is a research and development research by adopting the 4D Thiagarajan approach. The validation of the material and media in the video by dental health experts and multimedia shows that the material presented is "very feasible." The results of media testing using GOM Shortcut and Standalone Flash Player worked well. The responses obtained from users, namely elementary school children, aged 9-10 years, show that this educational video media is very attractive. Therefore, overall, the development of this educational video is very good and can be applied in teaching dental and oral health.
