Pengaruh Terapi Social Skill Training untuk Menurunkan Depresi pada Remaja

Abstract


Abstrak. Depresi pada remaja biasanya tidak terdiagnosis sejak awal, dan baru diketahui setelah mereka mengalami kesulitan di sekolah maupun pada saat menyesuaikan diri dengan teman sebaya dan lingkungannya. Remaja dengan depresi ditandai dengan gejala, mood depresi, kehilangan minat atau kesenangan, menarik diri dari lingkungan sosialnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi social skill training untuk menurunkan depresi pada remaja. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus pretest-posttest. Subjek dalam penelitian ini seorang remaja yang didiagnosis mengalami depresi, usia 17 tahun. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan tes psikologi, WhoDas dan skala depresi (BDI). Terapi social skill training dilakukan sebanyak 7 sesi, sebelum dan sesudah terapi dilakukan pengukuran tingkat depresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terapi social skill training diperoleh penurunan tingkat depresi  dengan skor BDI 21 (pretest) dan skor BDI 15 (posttest). Melalui observasi dan wawancara diperoleh  perubahan perilaku dengan meningkatnya kepercayaan diri dalam komunikasi interpersonal. Terapi social skill training disarankan sebagai terapi untuk menurunkan depresi pada remaja.
