Abstract


This study aims to find out how the resilience of soldiers' wives who live in dormitories when their husbands serve in conflict areas This study uses a qualitative method with an interpretive phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with six subjects, namely soldiers' wives according to the characteristics of the study. The results of the study were analyzed using IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) and showed that the subject felt negative emotions continuously during the one year duration of the husband's assignment in the conflict area which had a direct impact on the subject's mental and physical condition. During the assignment the subject experienced  unexpected events such as difficulty communicating with her husband due to the assignment caused by an attack from OPM, the child's health condition declined and had to be operated on, difficulties in educating and caring for the child to constant contractions so that she had to give birth ahead of time. The source of the subject's resilience comes from support from family, neighbors, friends and a strong encouragement from within the subject to be independent and rise from adversity.
