The Relationship between Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy and Quarter Life Crisis of College Students That Working on Their Thesis

Abstract


Quarter life crisis is a period of crisis that usually experienced by college students in early adulthood. Individual tendency can cause quarter life crisis to doubt their abilities, decisions, and readiness for the future. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between career decision making self-efficacy and quarter life crisis of college students that working on their thesis. This study used quantitative methods. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a total of 141 Psychology student of Makassar State University that working on their thesis. The measuring instrument used Quarter Life Crisis scale and Career Decision Making Self Efficacy (CDMSE) Indonesia Version scale. Hypothesis of this study was tested using the spearman rho test with the analysis result showed that r= -0.791 and p= 0.000. The result means that higher career decision making self-efficacy can lead to lower quarter life crisis. On the contrary, lower career decision making self-efficacy can lead to quarter life crisis.
