Application of Modeling Techniques to Reduce Disruptive Behavior in Classroom in Junior High School Students

Abstract


The background of this research is the high level of disruptive behavior in junior high school students. Indications of disruptive behavior in the student's class are 1) Leaving class without permission 2) Always encouraging when advised 3) Disturbing classmates during the learning process 4) Playing using class property. This study aims to find out: 1) Description of disruptive behavior in class of SMPN 3 Bontonompo students 2) Description of the implementation of modeling techniques in reducing disruptive behavior in class of SMPN 3 Bontonompo students. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research design (Pretest and Posttest) at SMPN 3 Bontonompo. The population in this study amounted to 25 people who were class VII students at SMPN 3 Bontonompo. Data collection using questionnaires and observation. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The description of disruptive behavior in the class of students at SMPN 3 Bontonompo is in the high category. 2) The level of disruptive behavior in the class of SMPN 3 Bontonompo students before being treated was in the very high category, but after being given treatment in the form of direct modeling techniques, the level of disruptive behavior in the class of students decreased and was in the low category.
