Ability to Translate Simple Indonesian Sentences into Arabic for High School Students in Wajo District

Abstract


This research is a type of mixed methods research that aims to describe and obtain data related to the ability to translate simple Indonesian sentences into Arabic for class XII UPT Language SMA Negeri 7 Wajo. The source of the research data was students of Class XII Language UPT SMA Negeri 7 Wajo. The research instruments were written tests and questionnaires. From the results of this study it shows that the ability to translate class XII language students at UPT SMA Negeri 7 Wajo still made several mistakes in the process of translating including errors in ism, mad and letters. These errors are caused by several factors including internal factors and external factors. Factors that become internal factors include the difficulty of students in distinguishing hijaiyyah letters, the lack of student interest in learning Arabic, and the difficulty in understanding Arabic writing rather than Latin writing. While external factors include teachers rarely using various media or methods, and the lack of motivation given by teachers to students about learning Arabic. Then the average score of Class XII Language UPT SMA Negeri 7 Wajo is 3.76 out of a maximum score of 9. With a total score of 13 students it is 541 and the average score is 41.61 rounded up to 42 and it is included in the less category
