Abstract


The problem in this study is the low ability to recognize numbers in class II mentally retarded children at SLB Galesong. The formulation of the problem in this research is "how to increase the ability to recognize numbers through associative pictures of mentally retarded children in class II at SLB Galesong". The goal to be achieved is to find out the use of associative images in improving the ability to recognize numbers in mentally retarded children. The approach used is a quantitative approach. The type of research used is descriptive. The data collection technique used is the test technique. While the data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the number recognition of mentally retarded children before the use of associative images was in the very poor category, while after the use of associative images they were in the capable category.
