Difference between Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) at the State Civil Apparatus and Private Employees in Makassar City

Abstract


In the current era of modernization, it is a challenge to improve the quality of human resources, especially in the government and private sectors, in this case the state civil apparatus and private employees, this is a challenge for organizations to create good quality work in human resources. Therefore private sectors and private employees need to instill organizational citizenship behavior to support good quality and performance. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in the State Civil Apparatus and Private Employees in Makassar City. Respondents in this study were 302 respondents, 151 civil servants and 151 private employees. The design of this research is quantitative, using accidental sampling technique. The instrument used is the OCB measuring instrument by using independent sample t test. The results of the hypothesis testing in this study showed that there were significant differences in OCB between civil servants and private employees.
