Abstract

The Bugis tribe has a history of how their own people lived and continues to change their behavior patterns from time to time. This social history is passed down to the next generation as old ideas and a number of values that they use in certain situations.Depending on the values they want to uphold in their environment, they may learn this from their parents. The kingdom of Bone had ancient beliefs, but by the seventeenth century, they were familiar with Islam and had an impact on all aspects of life. However, even though they actively adhere to Islamic law, some Muslims continue to practice customs that they believe were passed down from their ancestors. This kind of application can be seen in the application of ceremonial traditions, such as traditions related to the life cycle, livelihoods, and religion itself. The majority of Islam's adherents continue to practice life cycle traditions, such as sowing rice seeds, warding off pests, welcoming the emergence of rice fruit, beginning rice harvest, and giving thanks. These traditions are essential to the community's ability to maintain its basic means of subsistence.after the harvest each year. This study will focus on five of these traditions—Mabbaca Doang, Cemme Passili, Mappalette Bola, Sirawu Sulo, and Mappere—despite their diversity.Hope that the next generation will always have access to this tradition.
