Abstract


This study aims to determine the influence of simultaneous and partial understanding of self-understanding and family environment on the interest in choosing an accounting education study program. The population in this study was all students of Accounting Education, Faculty of Economics, Makassar State University in the class of 2018 which amounted to 141 students, while the sample was 59 students taken by probability sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by instrument testing, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis testing. The results of hypothesis testing with the F test, showed that self-understanding and the family environment simultaneously had a significant effect on the interest in choosing a study program with a significant value of 0.000<0.05, so it was stated that the first hypothesis was accepted. In the results of the t test, partial self-understanding did not have a significant effect on the interest in choosing a study program with a significant value of 0.094>0.05, and the family environment partially had a significant effect on the interest in choosing a study program with a significant value of 0.000<0.05, so it was stated that the second hypothesis was rejected. As well as the dominant family environment affects the interest in choosing a study program with a coefficient of determination of 0.487 or 48.7%, so that the third hypothesis is accepted.
