The Effectiveness of the Backward Chaining Method on Increasing the Ability to Wear T-shirts for Moderately Mentally Disabled Students in Bima City

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the improvement in the ability to wear T-shirts in mentally retarded students in elementary class II. This research approach is quantitative with descriptive research types presented in the form of percentages, tables and graphs. The research subject was one of the students at SLB Negeri 1 Kota Bima. Data collection uses a manufacturing test. The results showed an increase in the ability to wear T-shirts for students with mental retardation in elementary class II after the application of the backward chaining method, this increase was indicated by achieving the specified percentage, namely 70. First the researcher gave a pretest, while the pretest value obtained by the MZ subject was 20 (very low capable). In the posttest final test, the MZ subject obtained a score of 80 (able). The increase in score is shown by students being able to carry out the stages of wearing T-shirts through the application of the backward chaining method. The conclusion of the results of this study is that the backward chaining method is effective for increasing the ability to wear T-shirts in mentally retarded students in elementary class II at SLB Negeri 1 Kota Bima.
