Abstract


This study examines the low numeracy skills of deaf students in mathematics at Wonomulyo State SLB. The formulation of the research problem is “How to increase the ability to calculate addition through the implementation of counting funnel media in class V SLB Wonomulyo deaf students?” The purpose of this study was to find out: 1) the ability to calculate the sum of deaf students in conditions before being given treatment. 2) Application of counting funnel media to deaf students when they are given treatment. 3) Ability to count addition to deaf students after being given treatment. 4) Imptoving their arithmetic addition skills throug the implementation of counting funnel media to deaf students based on the results of analysis between conditions before being given treatment, when given treatment, and after being given treatment. The data collection technique used was a deaf written test. The subject of this study was a deaf students with the initials S. This study used an experimental method, using Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B-A design. The cunclusions of this study: 1) The ability to calculate the sum of the research subjects (RPS) before being given treatment was in the very low category. 2) Use of arithmetic funnel to increase the ability to calculate the sum of the research subjects (RPS) as long as the value is given in the high category. 3) The ability to calculate the sum of the research subjects (RPS) after being given the treatment of students increases.
