Maccera' Bola: Bugis Tradition In Tanete Rilau Village, Barru Regency In Accordance With Islamic Perspective

Abstract

This research examines the Maccera' Bola tradition of the Bugis tribe as an activity and process in the life of the Bugis people. The method used in this researchh is descriptive qualitative research method. The Maccera Bola Traditional Ceremony is a way of slaughtering two chickens or "sillebine manu" to make maccera. This custom usually ends with a desire to get a gift from God and as an expression of appreciation. Thus, maccera' bolaa is a majestic Bugis custom associated with the most common way of slaughtering creatures. This ancient ceremony has been practiced for generations for many years, even in the modern era. This ceremony is meant to ward off evil spirits and increase future luck. Maccera' ball implies the most common way of slaughtering creatures that are slaughtered to the orb controller. This is not in accordance with the Islamic creed contained in the Al-Qur'an and hadith. In Islamic belief, offering this love to other than Allah, be it jinns, spirits, or people who fully intend to draw near to Him is a very big sin.
