The Integration of Telegram and Google Meet in English Teaching and Learning Process: A Case Study at Vocational Schools Telkom in Makassar

Abstract


The purpose of this study were to discover the preparation of teacher in integrating Telegram and Google Meet for teaching and learning process during pandemic, the implementation in combining them and students’ perceptions in integrating the applications. This research was conducted at SMK Telkom Makassar. The qualitative method was applied to gain the data and the source of data were 13 respondents. One teacher and 12 students from 2 classes, researcher took 6 students for each class. The students are categorized as high achiever, average achiever and low achiever. The instruments used in this research are teacher observation, interview, online questionnaire. The result of this research showed that in integrating Telegram and Google Meet the teacher prepared a good and planned learning for students and the implementation of Telegram and Google Meet is easy and effective in order to achieve high score for the student. Related to the students’ perceptions in Integrating Telegram and Google Meet, the students are pretty attractive to use the applications as they are easy to use, have a lot of features and really helpful for them to learn in the pandemic.
