Abstract


This article aims to determine the strategy of the Youth and Sports Tourism Department in developing the Virgin Mary Statue Religious Tourism Destination in Mamasa Regency. using qualitative descriptives. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this research show that the Mamasa Regency Tourism, Youth and Sports Office for the last few years has been developing strategies for developing tourist destinations based on the application of theoryCorporate Organisation starting from formulating the mission, goals, implementing organizational values, and continuous improvement, it has been carried out optimally. However, based on data obtained in the implementation of several programs, they have not been realized properly due to the obstacles encountered in the form of inadequate budgets, the community sometimes recognizing the destination area as their own, and public awareness of the importance of tourism is still lacking.
