TOURISM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES (STUDI OF CASE IN TANA TORAJA)

Abstract


Tana Toraja is one of the southern Sulawesi provinces. Tourism becomes the preeminent sector of Tana Toraja, where is expected to increase the economic. Panoramic, historical and cultural heritage in Tana Toraja have a potential to attract the tourist. There are so many flaws in the tourism sector need to focus and sustainable development of tourism. The study uses qualitative research and study approach using data analysis methods of SWOT and IFAS-EFAS. The data obtained from interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires. Based on data analysis conducted in this study, it should be concluded that development in Tana Toraja tourism sector can implemented tourism strategy development by increase its unique culture and to maintain the environment, established and improves both of the structure and infrastructure that underpin the tourism sector, cooperate with tourism schools, civil management training in order to manage skills and optimize promotions through social media.
