Abstract

Traditional music is one of the arts that is still
widely presented in various activities in the community
including in Maros district. Some traditional music that is still
visible in Maros regency is drums, flutes, lutes, and several
other musical instruments. Seeing the increasingly modern
conditions of society and the introduction of music from
outside, which is more auditively related to the increasingly
popular ears of society, it certainly affects the interest of the
younger generation to continue to love traditional music. The
need for arrangement training in traditional music artists in
Maros regency is to facilitate them in developing traditional
music so that traditional music does not become monotonous
and will be demanded by the younger generations. The
formulation of the problem is (1) how the partner's problem
with the arrangement in relation to the development of
traditional music in Maros regency, (2) How is the procedure
for implementing arrangement learning in artists / traditional
art studios in Maros district. The method used in the
arrangement of the arrangement program is the lecture method,
the experimental method that uses traditional musical
instruments in the form of drums, flutes, harps as a tool, and
direct guidance on the arrangement theory. The results
achieved were the development of augmentation, diminution,
sequence, imitation, and repetition melodies to provide new
lessons for participants, this was seen in the training and
several demands in the training, participants' enthusiasm in
receiving the material was very high so the training process
ran smoothly and participants were able understand the
material from beginning to end which is given well. And based
on the acceptance of the first material that is going well even
though there are few obstacles when learning takes place
because some participants are not familiar with advanced
music theory material, but successfully improved by the
researcher by giving material gradually according to the ability
of the participants. The next training participants were
enthusiastic in learning that occurred because learning was
more fun and the material provided increased, so that in the
process of implementing arrangements can give a positive
contribution as seen from the ability to write and translate
notation in the form of work arrangements on performances
performed at the end of application learning Aransmen.
