Pelatihan servis bentor di Desa Patalassang Kabupaten Gowa

Abstract

Bentor (motorbike becak) drivers in Patalassang do
not have basic knowledge about how to drive a motorcycle
(bentor) or ability to repair it, so bentor is operated not in
accordance with the correct procedure. As a result, those
bentors are often damaged, and have to be brought to the
repairman service. This causes the bentor drivers to suffer
losses. Losses because they do not only lose time, but also
have to pay the repair costs (service fees) which around
Rp30,000 to Rp50,000. In fact, the destructions are caused by
the driving errors and lack of care. This problem really does
not need to occur, if the bentor drivers have basic knowledge
about how to drive, maintain and repair a motorcycle engine or
bentor. The training carried out was training in how to drive,
maintain and repair damages that might occur by means of
demonstrations and direct practice. The training was
conducted, including how to unload the carburettor and the
possibility of the usual damage, setting the valve, overcoming
the ignition system in the spark plug, and oil change time. This
activity was supported by the participants or the trainers who
attended the event, by practicing directly how to unload the
carburettor and how to adjust the valve. The information about
oil change time was only explained. In conclusion, by doing
this activity, the knowledge and skills of the bentor drivers in
carrying out repairs and maintenance as well as driving a
bentor methods can be increased.
