Abstract
This Community Partnership Program (PKM)
partnered with a group of housewives in Pakkanna Village,
Wajo Regency. Pakkanna Village is one of the villages in
Tanasitolo District which is the center of the growth of Silk
handicrafts. Silk cloth waste measuring 30 cm, 40 cm, 50 cm
to approximately 1 meter is available quite a lot in the silk
handicraft industry. However, no one or group wants to use it
as a souvenir such as a hand fan.The problems faced of the
partner include: (1) partner did have knowledge of materials,
and the tools used to make souvenirs for hand fans, (3) partner
has not been able to design souvenirs for hand fans, (4) partner
did have the skills to make fan hand souvenirs, (5) partner did
have relations or speakers/facilitators who can guide and train
them to make souvenirs of hand fans whose main raw material
is silk waste. The solutions offered to solve partner problems
consist of: (1) guiding partners to have knowledge of souvenirs
of hand fans, (2) training partners to design souvenirs for hand
fans, (3) training partners to make souvenirs of hand fans
whose raw materials are from silk fabrics. PKM output targets
are: (1) partners have knowledge about souvenirs of hand fans,
(2) partners have the skills to make souvenir designs for hand
fans, (3) partners have the skills to make souvenirs for hand
fans, (4) souvenir hand fans raw material for fabric waste silk
produced by partners. The implementation methods that were
used during the PKM program consists of lecture method,
discussion, question and answer, and mentoring. The
implementation and results of the PKM program consist of
guiding, training, and assisting partners to have the knowledge,
skills, making and producing souvenirs of hand fans that use as
much silk fabric as possible, by giving all partners the
opportunity to make their own souvenirs.
