Abstract


The era of globalization is undeniable and must be
accepted as an important part of human life. The stages of
human development that are very at risk affected by
technological development are entering adolescence.
Adolescence viewed from their ways of thinking tends to be
more negative. Recognizing the various potentials that can
lead adolescents to negative things, it is necessary to develop
and to train them using smartphones that they always carry in
all activities. Activities that can attract teenagers such as 1)
making short films and involving their firends, 2) observing
teenagers who interested in making short film and asking for
their response. Recently, cinematography techniques became
popular among teenagers because of many short film festivals
and competitions held on a national scale, and 3) collecting
data of teenagers who are interested in learning more about the
process of making films using smartphones. The result of the
implementation of this training shows that 1) the
cinematographic technique training received a very positive
response from participants and their parents who joined the
entire series of material, 2) the participants and their parents
feel that they really need activities like this to channel their
talents and interests of their children in the field of
cinematography, 3) smartphones are not only the main reason
to spend hours for entertainment purposes only, but become a
means of supporting their work in making videos and films 4)
long-term planning in cinematographic training activities is
that art studios can be created that focus on creative production
houses for teen-based short film as actors and people behind
the scenes. Smartphones can be a supporting tool for
channeling youth talent in cinematographic work. In general,
the produced short film got satisfactory ratings.
