Pelatihan TOEFL bagi Lembaga MAMMESA

Abstract


The partner of this Community Partnership Program was Mammesa Institution (Massenrempulu Meeting of the English Students Association). The problems were: (1) The absence of facilitators who were considered competent in carrying out TOEFL training for Mammesa institution, (2) The TOEFL work program was not implemented because of financial constraints to bring up the facilitators. The expected outcome was that 80% of participants know the forms of questions in the TOEFL Test and are able to answer these questions using certain strategies. The approach used in the implementation of the training consisted of two methods, namely the presentation of material and the provision of tests. The results achieved were 90.3% of participants had known the forms of TOEFL questions and were able to answer these questions using the strategies that had been taught during the training. It was proved by the increase in scores they got from pre-test to post-test. Based on observations during the training activities, it can be concluded that the training participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the training. They earnestly paid attention to the presentation of material and asked questions that they did not understand. They were also very enthusiastic in working on examples of TOEFL Tets. They hope that similar activities will be carried out because it was very beneficial for them
