Abstract


Indonesia has very diverse natural resources. The diverse potential of natural resources needs to be managed appropriately so that it can provide benefits to the welfare of the community. Human resources (HR) play an important role in managing the potential of natural resources because superior human resources are the key to competitiveness. Vocational development is associated with government policy regarding the ratio of SMA: SMK to 70:30, should see differences in the challenges in each region so that productive HR can be directed to develop the region. The current trend of vocational development is still based on the public interest adjusted to the trend trend and not looking at the potential superiority of the region. The objectives of this study are: (1) mapping the potential of the area in Bulukumba district; (2) analyze the potential of the area in Bulukumba district; (3) analyze the feasibility of developing Vocational Schools based on regional potential. Furthermore, there are three sectors that meet the criteria of being the base / PEUW based on LQ (LQ> 1), namely: (1) agriculture, forestry, fisheries; (2) industrial sector, and (3) compulsory government administration, defense and social security sectors, each of which has a QL value of 1.01, 1.01 and 1.07 respectively
