Abstract
Abstract. This research has a positive impact on the development of the Indonesian language, especially knowledge about metaphorical compositions and at the same time having sensitivity about flora. Floral texts are one of the texts that is very necessary because through the readability and writing of flora, generations will have insight into floral diction. The main theories are used (Qiu et al., 2022), (Mon et al., 2021), (Hendricks et al., 2018), and (Sekulak et al., 2022). This research was carried out for 7 months with the data source being 210 students from Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Languages and Literature, Universitas Negeri Makassar. The research data are words, phrases and sentences that contain metaphorical compositions. The data was analyzed using the content analysis method which includes data tabulation, data description, data processing and classification of metaphorical compositions. The results of the research show that there are 23 metaphorical compositions in terms of nouns, 17 verbs, 15 numerals, and 13 adjectives. The existence of metaphors in floral texts really determines the meaningfulness of the word compositions that appear as well as providing clear direction about a text with metaphors.
