Persepsi Masyarakat Kota Makassar Terhadap Ulama Dalam Keterlibatan Politik Prakis

Abstract

The involvement of ulama in practical politics reaps the pros and cons. The pro-view assumes that the ulama must contribute not only in the field of da'wah but must also be absorbed in the world of politics to realize the benefit of society. The contradictory view assumes that the ulama in the fight for the benefit must be consistent in its path through the way of da'wah and religion so that it can be identified by its characteristics. The results showed that the people of Makassar City always perceive scholars as protectors. So that his involvement in the political world is not questioned in order to realize the common good always that commitment is maintained and not colored by interests that can be detrimental. Society considers that the struggle of the ulema is always on the path of truth so that its involvement in various fields is always oriented to truth.
