Abstract


Abstract: The study aims at examining the correlation of knowledge and information received with attitude and behavior of students on environment. The study employed ex-post facto research with correlational in nature, multiple correlation to be exact. The study was conducted at senior high schools in Binamu subdistrict, Jeneponto district, of academic year 2018/2019. The instruments of the study were questionnaire of information received and environmental attitude, test instrument (multiple choice test), and observation sheet. The result of the study reveal that (1) there is correlation of environmental knowledge and students’ attitude on environment with correlation value 0,356 and low correlation level, (2) there is correlation of environmental knowledge and students’ behavior on environment with correlation value 0,031 and very low correlation level, (3) there is correlation of information received through mass media with students’ attitude on environment with correlation value 0,181 and low correlation level, (4) there is correlation of information received through mass media with students’ behavior on environment with correlation value 0,022 and low correlation level, (5) there is correlation of environmental knowledge and information received through mass media with students’ attitude on environment with correlation value 0,409 and fairly strong correlation level, and (6) there is correlation of environmental knowledge and information received through mass media with students’ behavior on environment with correlation value 0,043 and very low correlation level.
