Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of this study is to develop students’ worksheet based on inquiry on  Substance Changes subject matter to improve students Science Process Skill (SPS) of VIInd grade Junior High School  who are valid, practical and effective. The research method used is research and development method 4-D model by Thiagarajan. The stages of Worksheet development consist of four stages, namely: 1) define; 2) design, 3) develop; and disseminate. Worksheet based on inquiry was tested in SMPN 2 Balanipa with 31 students. The instrument used to test the validity was obtained based on the validator's assessment. Questionnaire responses were used to determine the practicality of Worksheet, and effectiveness test of Worksheet based on inquiry was obtained based on a questionnaire of learners' responses and tests of science process skills. The result of expert evaluation based on the aspect of Worksheet format, language, content, and illustration obtained average value 3,45 (valid). Practicality test of Worksheet result based on 2 practitioners' response of science teachers with aspect of appraisal of 1) attractiveness; 2) the suitability of inquiry steps; 3) legibility; 4) Language, 5) appearance, and 6) evaluation obtained average value 3,47 (practical).. The result of Worksheet effectiveness test based on responders' questionnaire data obtained 54.48% of the students get very positive response and 45,16% give positive response to Worksheet application based on inquiry, and result of SPS test by using N-gain analysis as much 54% in the high category and 46% of students adhere to the medium category.
