Abstract
ABSTRACT
Metacognitive skills was someone skill in controlling the process of thinking. The purpose of this research was for knowed profile metacognitive skill student high school Mamajang district especially on digestive system materials biology subject. The kind of research used was descriptive research with survey method. This population research were all student class XI MIA in Senior high school on Mamajang district. Sample used on this research is random sample from all student class XI in SMA 2 Makassar and SMA 3 Makassar Determination of the number sample used Slovin formula and determination sample done random. Metacognitive skill data collected through metacognitive essay test, metacognitive questionnaire, interview and observation. Result metacognitive test analyzed with used metacognitive rubric developed by Corebima, while result metacognitive questionnaire, interview, and observation analized descriptive. Based on result test, metacognitive skills student be in category began to develop . Result metacognitive questionnaire student to show that student do planning of 25%, monitoring of 45% and evaluation of 43%. Result observation show that student can not do planning activities, monitoring and evaluation. Based on result survey can be concluded that metacognitive skill student high school class XI on Mamajang district material digestive system subject biology began develop but stil need to be improved.
