Abstract


Abstract: This research is a quasi- experimental study that aims to determine the activities, motivations and learning outcomes of biology of students in the ecosystem material that is learned by the Science Process Process Approach (KPS) and conventional. The study population were all science major students in grade sciences at Senior High School 18 Bone. The sample of this study used a random sampling technique with a pretest posttest only control group design. Data on student activity was obtained using observation sheets, learning motivation data were obtained using questionnaires and learning outcomes data were obtained using learning outcomes tests. The research data were analyzed using descriptive and imperative analysis data (independent sample t-test). The results showed that students who were taught by the science process skills approach, the activity of students was in the active category, motivation and learning outcomes were in the high category. Whereas, what is learned by conventional approaches is that the activities of students are less active, motivation and learning outcomes are in the moderate category. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that there is an effect of applying the science process skills approach to the activities, motivations and learning outcomes of biology students in the ecosystemmaterial.
