Pengaruh Metode Problem Solving Kuantitatif Berstrategi dalam Perhitungan pH terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Palu

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) untuk membuktikan pengaruh metode problem solving kuantitatif berstrategi dalam perhitungan pH Buffer  dan Hidrolisis terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 2 Palu, (2) untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan hasil belajar siswa setelah dibelajarkan dengan metode Problem Solving berstrategi dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal pH larutan Buffer dan  Hidrolisis dengan  pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Palu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan (Desain Randomized Control Group Only), dengan variabel bebas adalah metode Problem Solving Kuantitatif Berstrategi (COAST) dalam  Penyelesaian Soal-Soal pH Buffer dan Hidrolisis, variabel terikat adalah hasil belajar kimia. Populasi  dalam  penelitian  ini  adalah  siswa  kelas XI IPA RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Palu.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini yakni kelas XI IPA 1  dan kelas XI IPA 3. Teknik sampling secara purposive sampling. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji statistik t-tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, siswa  yang  dibelajarkan melalui penerapan metode Problem Solving Kuantitatif  berstrategi dalam perhitungan pH Buffer dan Hidrolisis  yakni diperoleh  thitung -4.586< ttabel 2.000, dengan taraf signifikansi α = 5%, dalam arti bahwa menolak Ho dan menerima Ha maka disimpulkan bahwa, terdapat   perbedaan  hasil  belajar siswa  yang dibelajarkan melalui metode Problem solving kuantitatifberstrategi dalam perhitungan pH dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui penggunaan metode  konvensional.

          The objectives of this research were: (1) to prove the influence of strategic quantitative solving problem method in calculating pH of Buffer and Hydrolisis toward the learning outcome of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Palu, (2) to describe the difference between students’ learning outcome which employed Strategic Solving Problem Method (COAST) in solving Buffer soluble pH exercises and Hydrolisis with conventional learning  to the eleventh grade students (Science Program) of SMA Negeri 2 Palu. This research employed Design Randomized Control Group Only. The population of the research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Palu. The sample were classes of Science Program 1 and Science Program 3. The sampling done purposively. The hypothesis examining used t-test statistics test. The research result shows that the students’ learning outcome who employed with COAST method, the average were higher than those who did not. Statistically, there was a significant difference, where tcalculated -4.586 <ttable 2.000, with α significance level = 5% which mean reject Ho and accept Ha. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference of the students’ learning outcome employed COAST method in calculating pH and the students’ learning outcome employed conventional one.
