Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mendalam tentang (1) kualitas produksi Topi Saraung (Caping) kelompok ibu-ibu rumah tangga pengrajin Topi Saraung masih rendah dibanding dengan produksi yang sama di pasaran; dan (2) pangsa pasar Topi Saraung hasil kerajinan kelompok ibu-ibu masih terbatas pada pasar lokal. Jenis penelitian bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis data yang dilakukan dalam empat tahapan; (1) pengumpulan data; (2) pengurangan data; (3) penyajian data; dan (4) penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini juga didukung oleh triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam meningkatkan kualitas produksi Topi Saraung (Caping) kelompok ibu-ibu rumah tangga pengrajin Topi Saraung masih rendah dibanding dengan produksi yang sama di pasaran maka diperlukan pelatihan dan pendampingan kelompok ibu-ibu pengrajin Topi Saraung dalam rangka mengoptimalkan kualitas produksi, sehingga menarik minat dari konsumen. Selanjutnya pangsa pasar Topi Saraung hasil kerajinan kelompok ibu-ibu masih terbatas pada pasar lokal dengan cara mengadakan teknik dan pendampingan dalam memasarkan produk kerajinan.

This study aims to obtain in-depth information on (1) the quality of the production of Saraung Hats (Caping) by the group of housewives who are craftsmen of Saraung Hats is still low compared to the same production on the market; and (2) the market share of Saraung Hats produced by the group of mothers is still limited to the local market. The type of research is descriptive qualitative with data analysis carried out in four stages; (1) data collection; (2) data reduction; (3) data presentation; and (4) drawing conclusions. This study is also supported by data triangulation. The results of the study indicate that in improving the quality of production of Saraung Hats (Caping) by the group of housewives who are craftsmen of Saraung Hats is still low compared to the same production on the market, training and mentoring are needed for the group of mothers who are craftsmen of Saraung Hats in order to optimize production quality, so as to attract interest from consumers. Furthermore, the market share of Saraung Hats produced by the group of mothers is still limited to the local market by providing techniques and mentoring in marketing craft products.
