Abstract


This study examines how to improve the ability to recognize letters in children with mental disabilities. The formulation of the problem using animated videos for children with mental disabilities at SLB YPBB Bunga Biraeng was given treatment using letter animation videos. The purpose of this study is how to improve the ability to recognize letters by using animated videos for children with mental disabilities at SLB YPBB Bunga Biraeng. The type of research is an experiment with a quantitative approach. The research design used is Single Subject Research using research stages A - B - A. Data collection techniques through observation, tests and documentation in the form of subject data. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis to describe the results obtained during the implementation of the study, and visual analysis which is divided into analysis in conditions and analysis between conditions. Based on the results of the study obtained, the ability to recognize letters in children with mental disabilities has increased in conditions A1 / B, the results have increased and in conditions B / A2 also experienced an increase in conditions.
