Abstract

This study aims to (1) improve the quality of the biology learning process through the application of jigsaw cooperative learning, (2) improve students 'learning activity through the application of jigsaw cooperative learning, and (3) increase students' competence achievement (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) through the application of jigsaw cooperative learning. This study is a classroom action research (PTK) conducted in class XII IPA 2 on the concept of photosynthesis. This research was conducted for three cycles. The result of the research shows that (1) the students should be able to improve their learning activity through jigsaw cooperative learning, (2) the teacher can make cooperative learning as one of alternative learning model in teaching and learning process in school, (3) the need to build partnership among teachers in developing various learning models.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar biologi melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw, (2) meningkatkan keaktifan belajar biologi siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw, dan (3) meningkatkan pencapaian kompetensi siswa (kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik) melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan di kelas XII IPA 2 pada konsep fotosintesis. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa hendaknya dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajarnya melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw, (2) guru dapat menjadikan pembelajaran kooperatif sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran dalam proses belajar mengajar di sekolah, (3) perlunya dibangun kemitraan antara sesama guru dalam mengembangkan berbagai model pembelajaran.
